Preventing emergencies
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; preventing dental emergencies in the first place is always the goal. Seeing your dentist regularly for dental exams could be the most important preventative action you can take. During your dental exam, your dentist checks for signs of weakened teeth, loosened or ageing restorations, and early signs of inflammation that indicate the presence of disease.
Another important preventative action you can take to avoid dental emergencies is to wear a professionally fitted mouth guard while playing contact sports. A large percentage of dental injuries are sports related and wearing a properly fitting mouth guard can prevent many of these injuries.
If you or someone in your family has a dental emergency, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to determine the appropriate course of action to help. We understand when it comes to a dental emergency, time is of the essence. We will always strive to offer same-day emergency appointments; relieving pain is one of our top priorities!
